Once again Hyla Middle School heads to Portland, Oregonfor it’s 15th annual Track Meet. This year over 45 students from Hyla participated in various events. These events included track, javelin, shot-put, and hurtles. Here are some of our great captured moments during an incredible day of sunshine and fun at Catlin Gable Track.

Here comes Conrad Zimney around the bend in a strong lead for the finish. Look at the form and the determination that this student has. The previous months of hard work and training have paid off.

Now here comes Daniel Gwaizdon with an all out full effort of throwing the javelin beyond all previous attempts.

What would an athletic event be without our mighty crew giving encouragement to our fine Hyla athletes! David Moran and Timmy Casad look on as our long jumpers gear up to set the record for this event.

Text Box: Georgia Wellman, seeing the finish already, takes her mark to get set, and ready for the signal to begin the race. You can tell she’s out to win this one! Manvel Schauffler, once headmaster of Catlin Gabel from 1967 through 1980 is seen here in the background, already looking skeptical of who might win this one.

Madeline Crawford and Haley Green pass the bar smoothly during the long distance race. Nice transition between runners. This should be a shoe in for sure. Just notice the transitional follow through form Ms. Green shows as Crawford moves ahead in the race.
