Electives

Students choose elective classes four times each year. We offer both PE and general elective classes.

These 6- to 8-week block classes introduce our students to a diversity of activities, to other members of the school (they are cross-grade groupings), and to the realization that faculty members are multi-dimensional people with a wide variety of interests and skills.

Elective subjects vary widely, ranging from playing bridge to designing web-pages, and from backpacking to making mosaics. Most students mention elective classes as a favorite part of their Hyla experience.
