Library

The Hyla library holds nearly 4,000 volumes and has 4 computer stations for Internet research. Our collection is strong in Renaissance history, American history, African and Hispanic culture, and poetry to support our humanities, history, and English programs.

LibraryThe library also contains a robust collection of non-fiction volumes focusing on Northwest flora and fauna for our science program.

The librarian acts as a liaison to the Kitsap Regional Library and actively supports teachers by finding books at KRL to support class work, as well as suggesting resources from our own library shelves.

At Hyla, young adult fiction occupies the largest number of library shelves, because we want kids to love reading and our librarian actively encourages reading for pleasure.

Students have designated library class time within the school day schedule. The building is open before school and at lunch and break. Our students find the welcoming atmosphere in the library makes it an inviting place for classes or free time.
